Downtown Ruston’s murals are wonderful, and I hope we see more. Still, I miss the classic Coca-Cola ads once painted on those buildings. This is Coke Country, after all.

Every pothole in town has a group of people who know exactly when it appeared—and who’s responsible for it.

Jimmy John’s has returned to the Lincoln Parish after opening at Travel America Plaza at the Grambling I-20 interchange. My favorite: the Ultimate Porker.

Ruston Mayor Ronny Walker briefly directed traffic on Maple Street Friday after a storm toppled a massive oak and power lines. Apparently, “other duties as assigned” still appears in the job description.

The new traffic signals at the Tarbutton Road – I-20 interchange and at the Ruston Junior High main entrance have been turned on.

If you haven’t been by the Ruston Farmers Market lately, it’s hitting its stride. Vendors are back in force, and Saturdays are starting to feel like spring again in downtown Ruston.

Nothing travels faster in a small town than news—except maybe rumor and speculation.

The weekend’s rain is likely to lift the burn ban in several north Louisiana parishes, but check before you burn.

Louisiana Tech and Grambling State both have full slates of baseball and softball games this weekend. If you’re looking for something to do, you can find it at the ballpark. Friday 1pm: Tiger softball; 6pm: Tiger baseball, Bulldog softball, Bulldog baseball.  Saturday noon and 2pm: Tiger softball; 2pm: Bulldog softball, Bulldog baseball; 3pm: Tiger baseball. Sunday 11am: Bulldog softball; 1pm: Bulldog baseball and Tiger baseball.
