A traffic stop in Lincoln Parish last week resulted in the arrest of a driver after authorities reported finding a switched license plate and multiple outstanding warrants.
Robert Bernard Crew, 61, of Ruston, was arrested by a state trooper at about 10:15 p.m. on July 11.
According to an arrest affidavit, the trooper saw a silver Nissan Altima traveling west on U.S. 80 at Beacon Light Road displaying a switched Louisiana license plate. The report states the plate was assigned to a white 2000 Chevrolet Silverado and had been canceled or voluntarily surrendered.
A records check showed Crew was driving under suspension and had an outstanding Ouachita Parish warrant for failure to appear on charges of possession of controlled dangerous substances and registration violations, along with multiple Ruston warrants.
Crew was arrested and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for switched license plate, driving under suspension, the Ouachita Parish warrant and Ruston traffic warrants.
