Lincoln Parish residents are invited to meet Ruston Alderman Bruce Siegmund and hear his vision for the future of the city during his campaign kickoff event on Monday, July 27, at Tanyard Creek Student Center.
The come-and-go event will be held from 5-7 p.m. at Tanyard Creek Student Center, 402 Harley Lane in Ruston, where attendees will enjoy finger food treats while hearing a campaign update from Siegmund as he officially launches his campaign for re-election to the Ruston Board of Aldermen representing Ward 5.
Hosted by Mayor Ronny Walker and his wife, Kay, the event will provide residents with an opportunity to visit one-on-one with Siegmund, discuss the issues facing Ruston and learn more about the priorities he hopes to continue advancing after 12 years of service on the Ruston Board of Aldermen.
Walker said Siegmund’s leadership has played an important role in Ruston’s continued success and believes he has earned another term representing the citizens of Ward 5.

A 47 year Ruston resident, Siegmund has served on the Ruston Board of Aldermen for the past 12 years. During that time, the city has experienced unprecedented economic growth, welcomed new businesses and industries, invested millions of dollars in infrastructure improvements and continued enhancing the quality of life for residents throughout the community. All of this has been done while remaining fiscally sound in budgeting.
As a member of the Board of Aldermen, Siegmund has worked alongside Mayor Walker and his fellow aldermen to support investments in streets, utilities, parks, public safety and recreational facilities while helping guide Ruston through one of the most significant periods of growth in its history.
His tenure has coincided with the continued revitalization of downtown Ruston, expansion of parks and walking trails, improvements to city infrastructure and strategic economic development projects that continue to attract new businesses, jobs and investment. Most recently, Ruston’s continued growth along the Interstate 20 corridor has positioned the city for even greater opportunities in the years ahead.
Siegmund believes that success has come through collaboration, careful planning and a commitment to making decisions that serve the best interests of the community. His campaign is centered on continuing that approach by maintaining fiscal responsibility, investing in infrastructure, supporting public safety and encouraging responsible economic development while preserving the hometown quality of life that makes Ruston unique.
