As a lifelong resident of Choudrant who attended Choudrant Elementary and High School, Brandon Milner has a genuine concern and heart for his hometown.
That’s why he is running and is the candidate who will serve as a full-time mayor for Choudrant. He will be available during business hours and after hours.
“I understand a problem that may seem small to some of us, may be an important concern or issue to that person and it will be treated as such,” Brandon Milner.
Brandon is not running to fill out his retirement years because he doesn’t need those benefits.
He’s not running for the salary. In fact, he is planning on donating some of the mayor’s salary to address the issue of increasing patrol at certain hours.
After reviewing the budget, Brandon plans to have contractors pay for inspection fees to an approved third party licensed inspector to reduce cost being paid by the village of Choudrant.
Before beginning his career as a police officer, Brandon served as Choudrant reserve Police Officer and served on the Choudrant volunteer fire department.
He will work closely with our police chief and allow him to draft and submit his own budget for his department. This is something that hasn’t been done in almost 30 years.
Brandon wants to make council meetings a community event. He wants to bring back real public comment. He believes live streaming will provide transparency and public engagement.
He also wants to bring back the flags and wreaths to light poles and beautify our village.
Brandon will update the Choudrant website so people can more easily communicate their questions and concerns.
Brandon wants to know first-hand the problems and concerns of Choudrant citizens, so he is distributing a questionnaire that asked them to prioritize the issues of:
- Strengthen Fire and Police Services
- Increasing Street Lighting
- Drainage Problems
- Expanding and Upgrade the Sewer System
- Attracting and Expanding Businesses and Restaurants that fit our community
- Reducing Inspection and Permitting costs
- Having a Full-Time Mayor
- Other Priorities that you are concerned about
“We have to look at improving our sewer system to all residents that were not added in the initial phase almost 30 years ago. Our current treatment facility is at its max and needs to be brought up to date. And he wants to address drainage issues and street repair in Sheldon’s View subdivision.” Brandon said.
“If elected, I am committed to be available 24/7 to our citizens since this will be my one and only job.”
