A Ruston woman was arrested Oct. 7 after police said she refused to leave a residence, then locked herself in her SUV and pointed a firearm at witnesses, according to an arrest affidavit.
Laquittia Lasha Lynn, 42, of Ruston, was taken into custody at 8:04 a.m. by the Ruston Police Department.
Police received a call at about 7:47 a.m. reporting that Lynn was refusing to leave a residence. While officers were on their way, dispatch advised that Lynn had left the home, gotten into her vehicle and begun brandishing a firearm toward witnesses.
Officers arrived and found Lynn still inside the vehicle with loud music playing. A black Highpoint firearm with an extended magazine was lying on the passenger seat, within her reach. Lynn was ordered out of the vehicle, complied and was placed in restraints. She was advised of her rights and placed in the back of a patrol unit.
Witnesses told officers Lynn had been told numerous times to leave the residence and refused. After she finally went outside, they said, she locked herself in her SUV, began playing loud music and brandished the firearm toward them. The witnesses and the homeowner said they wanted charges pressed.
Lynn was taken to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center and booked on counts of aggravated assault with a firearm and entering or remaining on property after being forbidden.
