Grambling State won two out of three games on the road at Texas Southern this weekend, winning by scores of 10-4 and 12-8 after dropping the first contest of the series 8-2.

GSU (15-20, 10-5 SWAC) now sits just one game behind Prairie View A&M and in second place in the Southwestern Athletic Conference West Division standings.

The Tigers have five SWAC series remaining, including a three-game set against Prairie View A&M May 6-8 in Houston. Grambling won two out of three against Prairie View in the first three-game set the two teams played back in mid-March.

In Saturday’s series-clinching 12-8 win at MacGregor Park, GSU collected 16 hits and overcame an 8-7 deficit through four innings to win. Terry Burrell III, Jarficur Parker and Keylon Mack collect three hits each.

Grambling State steps out of SWAC play for its midweek game as the Tigers play host to Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6 p.m. from Wilbert Ellis Field at R.W.E. Jones Park.
