Two occupants of a vehicle wanted on warrants were arrested Friday night by Ruston Police.
RPD Sergeant K.D. Loyd was responding to a call at a S. Farmerville St. convenience store when she saw a car leaving occupied by a woman wanted on warrants. When Sgt. Loyd stopped the car as it pulled into a residence on E Arizona Ave., the driver and the female passenger exited. Both were detained.
The driver initially identified himself as Ladarius Maxwell but did not produce any identification. A records check showed a photograph of Ladarius Maxwell did not match the driver. A photograph of the Darrien Maxwell, 29, of Grambling, who was wanted by RPD, did match.
The passenger, Courtney M. Dennis, 27, of Ruston was arrested on bench warrants for failure to appear in Ruston City Court for disturbing the peace, resisting an officer, and unauthorized entry.
Maxwell was arrested on an arrest warrant for felony hit and run driving, two bench warrants for failure to appear on speeding and no driver’s license charges and resisting an officer by providing false information and driving under suspension.
Bail for Maxwell was set at $30,000.
