It’s a winner take all grudge match.
Well, at least the winner gets the power point the LHSAA awards for the district championship.
Cedar Creek and Ouachita Christian will tip off tonight at 6 p.m. at Claiborne Christian in the rubber match of this year’s District 2-1A series.
Both teams are co-district champions an the outcome tonight won’t impact that. However, the winner will get an additional power point which could have a direct impact on their playoff seeding as the LHSAA is set to release the girls brackets Monday morning.
OCS (24-4, 7-1) sits at No. 5 in Select School Division IV in the most current power ratings that determine the playoff seeding following its 42-15 win over Lincoln Prep Thursday in a game that saw an altercation between the two teams resulting in at least one ejection.
Creek (21-5, 7-1) sits at No. 7 in the Select School Division IV power ratings following its regular season finale 69-33 win over River Oaks Thursday night.
The Lady Cougars won the first meeting of the year 47-35 in Ruston while the Lady Eagles prevailed 41-38 in Monroe in the re-mach.
