Vehicles, electronics stolen in burglary

Investigation into a burglary reported Monday led to the arrest of a Ruston man Tuesday afternoon.

An establishment on Saratoga Street reported a burglary Monday where suspects entered the facility and stole several laptops and televisions. The suspects also stole three vehicles from the rear parking lot of the building. Information was received naming Nicholas D. Hullaby, 33, and another individual as two suspects in the burglary and vehicle thefts. 

Ruston Police investigators were told the two were traveling in one of the stolen vehicles trying to sell they stolen items.

On Tuesday, information was received from another local business owner that one of the stolen vehicles was parked in his parking lot. Witnesses stated the driver said he would return to retrieve the vehicle.

RPD investigators responded to the location and found Hullaby trying to pour gas into the stolen vehicle.

The keys to the vehicle were found in Hullaby’s pocket along with a glass pipe used to smoke controlled substances. The keys to the three stolen vehicles were taken from a key box inside the burglarized facility.

Hullaby was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for simple burglary, illegal possession of stolen things, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $40,000.
