A Ruston man was booked for armed robbery Monday after a victim reported he was held a gunpoint while visiting a Broadway Avenue residence.
Early Monday morning, the victim reported going to a woman’s residence where he encountered a man who apparently knew of his previous communication with the woman. The man allegedly took the victim’s truck keys and went to his truck.
While the man was outside, the victim surreptitiously called 911 but could not speak directly with a dispatcher.. He reported he faked a panic attack to escape the location and drove to the police department where he told officers he was robbed of cash.
Officers reviewed the 911 call recording and located the alleged suspect, Daqwondrick D. Davis, 23. Davis said he did not rob anyone.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Davis was arrested and booked for armed robbery. Davis’s bail amount was not available.
