A boater who was thrown from his boat on Lake D’arbonne Monday was rescued by a fisherman.
According to Union Parish Sheriff Dusty Gates, the boat was still underway and circling in the lake when authorities arrived after receiving a 911 call.
A fisherman discovered the boater in the water with a life vest on and made the rescue. The victim was treated on the shore for minor injuries.
Authorities were able to corral the boat.
UPSO said the incident occurred near Woodyard Road at the spillway end of the lake.
