Motorist arrested on warrants, suspended license

Ruston Police arrested a motorist Sunday afternoon after an officer observed illegal blue headlights and blue fog lights on his vehicle.

Stephan Robinson, 32, of Ruston, was stopped on South Monroe Street near West California Ave. about 1:00 p.m. Sunday. When the officer approached the driver, a strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from inside the vehicle. Robinson told the officer his driver’s license had been suspended.

A records check confirmed the suspended license and also revealed three warrants for Robinson’s arrest for failure to appear in Ruston City Court.

Robinson admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle which was recovered during a search.

Robinson was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for driving under suspension, improper lights, possession of marijuana, and the three warrants for failure to appear in court on charges of driving under suspension, failure to yield the right of way to a pedestrian, and failure to register a vehicle.

Bail was set at $6,000 on the charges from the vehicle stop.
