Protective order violations end in arrests

Two Lincoln Parish men were arrested in separate incidents last Friday for violation of protective orders.

Early Friday morning, deputies of the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office were sent to Village Green Road regarding a disturbance involving Michael Keith Horton, 22, of Ruston. The complainant told deputies she and Horton had a verbal argument but that he had left the scene. He was located at a Sundance Drive residence and arrested on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear in court or a violation of a protective order from a previous incident.

At about 10:30 p.m. last Friday night, deputies responded to a Napper Road residence regarding a complaint. When deputies arrived, they found Brady Hicks, 30, of Dubach, at the residence. Brady had been served with a protective order earlier in the day prohibiting him from going within 100 yards of the Napper Road residence.

Hicks said he had received the protective order and read it. He was placed under arrest for violation of the protective order and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center.
