The Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team concluded a drug investigation Wednesday with the arrest of a Ruston man and the search of his residence.
George Earle Holland, 47, was taken into custody Wednesday morning as the LPNET executed a search warrant at his Neal Street residence. Arrest warrants had been obtained for Holland for distribution of hydrocodone and distribution of marijuana from earlier in the investigation.
According to authorities, Holland was asked if he had any illegal drugs in the house and he pointed out locations where drugs could be found.
During the search, a Smith & Wesson .40 caliber pistol and a Springfield 9mm pistol were located. The Springfield was determined to have been stolen in Ruston.
Holland reportedly pointed out a large garbage bag in a bedroom containing four vacuum sealed bags of suspected marijuana. Also located were 58 units of exycontin, 113 units of oxycodone/acetaminophen, and 44 units of hydrocodone/acetaminophen.
In another bedroom, Holland directed officers to a safe containing cash. Materials commonly used in packaging drugs were found nearby. An electronic money counter was found in the bedroom closet.
Two bags of marijuana and two sets of digital scales were found in the kitchen. Just over 2,700 grams of packaged marijuana were seized from the home.
Holland was booked on warrants for distribution of hydrocodone and distribution of marijuana. Additional charges arising from the search include possession with intent to distribute oxycontin, hydrocodone/acetaminophen, oxycodone/acetaminophen, and marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and illegal possession of a stolen firearm and possession of a firearm in proximity to a controlled substance.
Holland’s bail was set at $100,000.
