Cedar Creek’s girls powerlifting team took second place at the 2024 North Girls Regional Powerlifting Meet held Ruston High School this weekend.
The Lady Cougars recorded eight podium finishes (top 3) and finished runner-up to 5A West Monroe High School.
Lauren Enterkin won first place in the 165-pound class with a three-lift total of 980 pounds, earning her the Most Outstanding Lifter Award on the heavy platform.
Alli Claire Johnson (97-pound class), Emma Moore (123-pound class) and Ainsley Riley (148-pound class) all won their respective divisions as well. Johnson totaled 540 pounds, Moore 795 pounds and Riley 860 pounds to capture first place.
“Our girls are ready to head to Lafayette and defend their title again,” said head coach Jacob Angevine. “I’m so proud of them. Sarah Wages and the Ruston High School staff put on a great meet despite having to change locations due to the construction at their own gym.”
Ashlyn Bourn (2nd, 181-pound class), Rosemary Sewell (3rd, 132-pound class), Olivia Salter (3rd, 165-pound class), and Gia Fernandez (3rd, 198-pound class) also earned podium finishes at the regional meet.
