Home searched to find wanted man

When the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office was unable to get a suspect wanted on several felony charges to come to the door, they obtained a search warrant and went in and got him Thursday afternoon.

Hoyt Allen Brashear, 42, of Simsboro, was arrested on four warrants as well as additional charges related to the search.

Lincoln Parish deputies went to a location on U. S. 80 in Simsboro to serve an arrest warrant on Brashear. After questioning individuals at the location to identify the travel trailer serving as his residence, deputies knocked on the door for about two hours trying to get him to respond. When he did not respond, a search warrant for the residence was obtained. Patrol deputies and investigators entered the travel trailer and took Brashear into custody.

A bag of suspected methamphetamine was found on the counter by the kitchen sink during the search.

Brashear said he had been asleep for the two hours deputies were at the door. However, he made a call to the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office Probation Unit during that time stating he knew he was wanted and that he was laying low in Grambling at a friend’s house.

Brashear was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on warrants for simple burglary, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, resisting an officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Based on the circumstances of the arrest and evidence found inside Brashear’s residence, he was also booked for resisting an officer, possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
