Choudrant High School

Softball is hosting a quarterfinal game Friday vs. Stanley @ 5:30.

Baseball is hosting a first round playoff game Thursday vs. Hackberry @ 5:00 at the Ruston Baseball Field.

Choudrant Girls’ Track won the District 2-B Championship.

Denise Baugh’s 6th science classes have had fun creating and presenting cell organelle Infomercials, Breaking News broadcasts, and raps.

Lincoln Prep High School
 

Lincoln Prep’s Gordan Ford, Executive Director, and Dr. Crystal Washington, Chief Academic Officer, have been selected as the 2024 Grambling State University Exemplary Service Award recipients for their support of literacy and for the preparation of students and teacher candidates.

The Annual Spring Reading Conference will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024, at 4:30 PM in the Betty Smith Nursing Building on the campus of Grambling State University.

Ruston High School

Last week Student Council Officers were voted on by the student body and results are in:

President: Trenton Richard

Vice President: Abby Seney

Catbox Coordinator: Talan Billberry.

On Saturday, the Juniors and Seniors attended our Miami themed Prom and had a blast.

That afternoon, several of our students competed in the dragon boat race in Monroe, and although they didn’t place, it was such a fun experience. RHS was honored to help support the Children’s Coalition for Northeast Louisiana.

Following the dragon boat race, students hopped over to West Monroe to watch the Ruston High baseball team BEAT WEST MONROE (#1 ranked) 6-3!

This week our tennis team competed in regionals. Eleven students are headed to the state tennis tournament which will be next Friday and Saturday at ULM.

The golf team competed in district Monday-Thursday.

On Wednesday, Track held the 2-5A District Championship here at the Hoss Garrett stadium and several students will be competing at state.

On Thursday, we had a Special Olympics pep rally to celebrate our students competing in the Special Olympics on Friday. We are so excited to watch them compete!

Soccer is having their banquet on Friday to celebrate their success this year.

Juniors Anhaar Wasi and Cedric Serio both received a perfect score (36) on the ACT.

Sophomore Trisha Pangilinan won second place in Short stories for her entry “Are You With Me?” and senior Hoss Allen won first place in Short Stories for his entry “Tristesse” in the Sigma Tau Delta High School Student Writing Contest.

Gabe Middleton and Jake Taunton won the LA Small Engines Career Development event.

Earlier in the week, Melissa Le, recently crowned Miss Louisiana’s Teen, and Ahmad Hudson went to speak to Cypress Springs Elementary students to motivate some future Bearcats before state testing.
