Louisiana Tech pitcher Allie Floyd and center fielder Alexis Gilio were named Second-Team All-Louisiana by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association, a panel of state SIDs and media members.

Floyd was a force in the circle for Louisiana Tech in 2024. The sophomore right-hander posted a 13-9 record and 81 strikeouts in 146.1 innings pitched while posting a 2.87 ERA and limiting opposing hitters to a .245 batting average. Her 13 wins were the sixth-most by a sophomore in program history. Her team-leading five saves were the second-most by a LA Tech pitcher in a single season all time. Floyd also ranked among the regular-season league leaders in innings pitched (3rd, 137.1), ERA (6th, 2.70), and strikeouts (T-6, 77).

The East Bernard, Texas native also garnered Second-Team All-CUSA honors in 2024.

Gilio had an outstanding season at the plate while excelling defensively in center field. She led the Bulldogs with a .383 batting average, 64 hits, five doubles, 22 RBI, 30 runs scored, 19 walks and 14 stolen bases. She registered a team-best 21 multi-hit games and collected three multi-RBI games. Her 64 hits also tied for the Conference USA lead. Her four sacrifice flies led the Bulldogs and tied for the CUSA lead. Defensively, Gilio posted a .969 fielding percentage with 92 putouts and two assists while robbing a pair of home runs this season against Jacksonville State (Feb. 14) and Ole Miss (Feb. 16).

The selection marks Gilio’s third postseason honor this season, as she was named First Team All-Conference USA and Second Team All-NFCA Mideast Region.

Floyd and Gilio’s LSWA selections were the first in their careers and the 109th and 110th in program history.
