A Ruston couple was arrested following a domestic violence incident after each alleged an attack by the other at a Tarbutton Road residence last Tuesday.
Kimberly Laskey, 32, and Jonathan Alonzo, 39, were both charged with domestic abuse battery after the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office investigated the altercation on October 8.
Laskey told deputies Alonzo took something from her and she wanted it back. She said Alonzo became upset and hit her across the face and grabbed her around the throat and choked her.

Deputies saw red marks on Laskey’s face and neck.
Alonzo said Laskey accused him of taking a rose but he denied doing so. He said Laskey had been acting differently since the previous night and had grabbed him around the neck and snatched his necklace off and threw his phone.
A witness told deputies he saw Laskey snatch Alonzo’s necklace and throw his phone.
Both were arrested and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center. A foil packet in Laskey’s purse was found to contain suspected methamphetamine. She was also charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
