Drugs found on traffic stop

The Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department arrested a Grambling man last Thursday after drugs were found in his vehicle on a traffic stop.

Zebediah Eli Lovell, 39, was stopped for traffic violation about 7:30 p.m. Thursday night. When deputies approached the vehicle, a faint odor of burnt marijuana was detected. Deputies could see plastic baggies and loose suspected marijuana throughout the passenger compartment of the vehicle.

A search was conducted and a tin container was found in the center console containing suspected ecstasy tablets, and Ambien, a Schedule IV controlled substance.

Lovell was arrested and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for possession of ecstasy, a Schedule I controlled substance; possession of Ambien, possession of drug paraphernalia; and improper lights.

Lovell’s bail was set at $20,000.
