After going a perfect 3-0 in singles at the Hurricane Invite, Louisiana Tech’s Zoie Epps was named as the Conference USA Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week.
Epps, who went 12-2 this past fall in singles, picked up right where she left off as LA Tech opened the 2025 dual season. The sophomore did not drop a single set while playing at the No. 2 position.
The Norman, Oklahoma native opened the spring slate by defeating Lily Cvanciger of Arkansas State by a score of 6-2, 7-5. She that followed that up the same day by dominating Anastasiia Kochelaevskaia of Wyoming, dropping only two games in a 6-2, 6-0 victory.
Epps then made it an undefeated weekend by besting Lily Hutchings of Tulsa, 6-4, 6-4. In doing so, the Bulldog has now won 21 of her last 25 singles matches dating back to last spring season.
This is the first CUSA weekly honor for Epps who earned Second Team All-CUSA and All-Freshman Team honors last season.
Epps and the Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, Jan. 25 as they host a doubleheader against Southern Arkansas and Louisiana Christian.
