To be the best you have to beat — or at least stand up to — the best.
It’s an adage long part of football lore.
Through his scheduling in recent years, Ruston High School’s head football coach Jerrod Baugh has shown that’s a philosophy he likely believes in.
Now it’s happened again.
Baugh said Monday that his Bearcats will travel to Hahnville on Saturday to conduct a spring scrimmage against perenial Class 4A powerhouse Edna Karr to wrap up spring workouts.
“We only just finalized this … we were looking hard to try to make something work out,” Baugh said. “Edna Karr is a great team. We know we have our work cut out for us. But this is what we want. This will make us better.”
