The North Carolina State Wolfpack qualified their sixth consecutive NCAA Tournament as runners-up in the ACC conference tournament and finishing their season ranked third in the conference.
They’ll take on Alabama in the Ruston NCAA Regional opener at 1 p.m. Friday at J.C. Love Field
Junior Jonny Butler leads the Wolfpack with 41 RBIs and a .388 batting average.
This will mark the 10th time in the last 11 years that the Wolfpack is participating in a NCAA Regional.
NC State came up short Sunday afternoon in the ACC Tournament championship game, falling to Duke 1-0.
The Wolfpack, fighting for its first conference title since 1992, couldn’t muster anything offensively against the Blue Devils, who captured their first ever ACC Tournament title.
