RHS plans activities for homecoming

It’s time for a homecoming.

Ruston High School football team is returning it its home stadium this Friday night, but activities abound this week for students, faculty and fans alike.

Daniel Gressett, RHS principal, said there are a lot of activities planned for this year’s homecoming.

“We’re very excited,” Gressett said. “It’s been a little while since we’ve been back in our own stadium. Last year all of our home games were at Grambling State. So it’s been a while since we’ve been in James Stadium.”

One of the activities where fans can attend is this year’s homecoming assembly.

“We’d normally do our homecoming assembly during school hours in the gym, but we’re not doing that this year,” he said. “We’ve got it planned for 7 p.m. Thursday at the stadium. We’ll have our homecoming assembly and pep rally then.”

Gressett said several activities are planned throughout the week.

“We’re looking forward to this week,” he said. “We’re recognizing some of our state championship teams, and we’ve got a 10-year reunion on Friday. We’ve got dress up days all week at school. There’s a lot going on — and we’re looking forward to a good crowd Friday night.”

TIckets to RHS’s Friday  homecoming football game against Airline will be on sale this week at the Athletic Office at RHS from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. General admission tickets are $8 each, and reserved tickets are $10 each. Tickets will be $10 and $12 at the gate.
