Lauren Spillers and Kevin Skelton were married on September 5, 2021 at 6:30 p.m. in Pensacola, Florida. The wedding took place at a downtown venue called 5 Eleven on Palafox Street.
The bride was born and raised in Ruston where she graduated from Cedar Creek High School and Louisiana Tech University with a degree in secondary education. She taught one year at Ruston High School before moving to Florida to continue her teaching career at Gulf Breeze High School.
Kevin Skelton is a native of Gulf Breeze, Florida, and graduated from Gulf Breeze High School before then graduating from the George Stone Criminal Justice Training Center in Pensacola. The son of Mark and Jeneane Skelton, Kevin currently serves as a sergeant in the Special Investigations Division working with both the DEA and the US Marshals Service.
Lauren and Kevin plan to make their home in Gulf Breeze.
The ceremony was officiated by a long-time family friend of the brides, Scott Walker. The couple honeymooned in Jamaica.
The Lincoln Parish Journal will start publishing paid engagement and wedding announcements for couples who reside in the parish, who have relatives in the parish or who are getting married in the parish. Students who are enrolled at Louisiana Tech or Grambling State but who do not live in the parish will also be able to submit. These announcements will be published each Friday and Sunday.
