Ruston resident publishes new book

Ruston resident Jean DeFreese Moore’s newest book “A Father’s Love: Justice and Forgiveness” uncovers a riveting narrative among the endless strings of secrets and lies.

Moore, a skilled writer, an accomplished artist and a full-time grandmother, has completed her new book, “A Father’s Love: Justice and Forgiveness,” a gripping tale of a man’s journey along the path of justice in a world blanketed in crime and intrigues.

The recently released book from Covenant Books is a suspenseful read that revolves around an uncovering of secrets, a pursuit for survival, and a struggle of identity.

Moore writes, “This is the second book in ‘A Father’s Love’ series. The year is 1904, and retired federal marshal Travis Britt’s youngest son, Reid, has completed law school and has married Chipeta, a beautiful Indian girl. But a dangerous mingling of lies, crime and secrets bring dark clouds over the family. Chipeta struggles with acceptance among the people in Reid’s hometown and with her own identity. But Reid can’t help her.

“He is called by God to serve justice and now struggles for his own survival in the dangerous world of organized crime. Knowing the entire family could be in danger, Travis prays fervently for their safety and holds the secret that could help Chipeta. But before he can tell her, she disappears. One friend turns to crime and abandons his children while another leads Reid to believe a lie. The only people that can offer Reid the truth are his wife and his father. But now Reid’s father is gone too.”

Published by Covenant Books of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Moore’s new book is an interesting saga where readers will find an intriguing mystery, family issues and a struggle to find the ultimate truth. Join Reid as he figures a way out from this seemingly endless maze of messes.
