BREAKING | Andy Yepson announces retirement from Cedar Creek

The Lincoln Parish Journal has learned that Cedar Creek head of school Andy Yepson announced his retirement today effectively immediately after a 30-year career at the Ruston-based private school.

Yepson started at Cedar Creek in 1992 as a teacher and a coach where he spent the next 20 years before eventually being promoted to principal in 2011 where he has served for the past decade.

It’s been a tumultuous past few months at Cedar Creek High School after parents of a former student brought a civil lawsuit against eight students, their parents and several school teachers and administrators over allegations of bullying and sexual assault during the 2020-21 school year.

The Lincoln Parish Journal will continue to update this story as more information is known on how the school moves forward with the hiring process and a timeline for the decision.
