In the early morning hours of Oct. 13, Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s officers responded to a Ruston property about a disturbance and an unwanted guest.
Officers said a woman at a Ruston residence stated that her ex-boyfriend, Rex Colin Bryant, was in her yard and would not leave her property, despite her telling him multiple times to do so.
An officer reported that the woman was trembling and appeared afraid. She informed officers that she suspected Bryant was in her shed. An officer called for Bryant to come out, and after a few commands, he did so. He approached deputies, who smelled alcohol.
Bryant was argumentative and uncooperative with deputies. He refused to comply for a pat down, and he was placed in handcuffs.
When searching the shed, officers also found two black bags that the woman stated were Bryant’s. The bags were taken with the deputies to the detention center so Bryant had no reason to return to the property. Deputies searched the bags for contraband and found three prescription pill bottles. Two had the labels removed and the third was prescribed to an individual who was not Bryant.
Bryant was charged with remaining after being forbidden and possession of a legend drug. As of Wednesday afternoon, bond had not been set.
