The Well scared up fun with BOO Campaign

By Thomas Stodghill, IV

The Well of North Louisiana hosted its second annual BOO Campaign in October. This fundraiser helped the organization with their goal of helping those in the foster system.

The Well started with a few volunteers who wanted to help in the foster system. They want to offer a support system for those in that system by educating them and making sure nobody navigates life alone.

The Well runs a resource center for the community, including resources such as groceries, laundry and gas cards.

The BOO Campaign is a fun way for The Well to raise money. The way that it worked is that someone purchased a BOO sign, put together treats for a friend, and left it at their house for a surprise.

The BOO campaign went well this year, and they had over 120 BOOs this year.

Tara Stone, executive director of the Well of North Louisiana, explained why the event is important for the community.

“We believe in building relationships and showing up for their friends,” Stone said.

This is one of many events that The Well does around the holidays. They are currently looking for volunteers to help with Christmas events.
