Football playoff pairings to be announced today

With all three Lincoln Parish football-playing schools set for postseason play, the Louisiana High School Athletic Association will announce the official pairings today at 11 a.m.

The announcement was originally scheduled to be made yesterday afternoon, but due to an appeal on the Class 3A level that will be heard first thing this morning, the LHSAA postponed the announcement until today.

Fans can see the pairings announced live at 11 a.m. on the LHSAA Live app. The pairings will be on the LHSAA website at noon.

Barring any 11th hour changes, Ruston High will be the No. 5 seed in the Class 5A Non-Select and will host the No. 28 seed Covington Friday night at 7 p.m. at James Stadium. RHS principal Dan Gressett said tickets will go on sale Tuesday at 8 a.m. at the school ticket office.

Lincoln Prep appears to be the No. 11 seed in Class A Non-Select and will host No. 22 Delhi. The location, date and game time of the Lincoln Prep game will be announced sometime today.

Cedar Creek should be the No. 16 seed in Division IV and will travel to face No. 1 seed Ouachita Christian in Monroe. Details for game times and tickets will be announced within the next day.
