Inmates charged after DC disturbances

Two inmates at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center received additional charges over the weekend for disturbances at the detention center.

Donald White Jr., 46, of Simsboro, was charged with simple criminal damage to property after a deputy notified other deputies that White physically ripped the television off the wall and threw it to the floor. Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Office deputies arrived to the disturbance in E-pod at the detention center.

Deputies stated that White was upset about his current charges and time he must serve due to these charges.

Additionally, Marlon T. Harris, 28, of Ruston, was charged with introduction to contraband in a penal institution. Members of the LPSO conducted a search in Dorm 2 because of suspicious activity observed on the wall-mounted CCTV cameras.

Upon searching his property box, a deputy found a toothbrush that had been altered into a shank with a makeshift blade containing a pointed piece of metal at the end. The item was placed in an evidence bag, logged and dropped in the contraband box in administration. Harris was booked on the aforementioned charge.
