A Ruston man with a history of theft arrests was arrested again Friday after allegedly shoplifting at two northside stores.
About 11 a.m. Friday, the Walmart on the North Service Road reported a theft. When Ruston Police officers responded, they learned a man one of the employees knew as Adrian Jackson had walked out of the store with items he had not paid for. Upon encountering loss prevention staff, Jackson surrendered the items, but Walmart wanted to pursue theft charges.
As officers were searching the area for Jackson, a second shoplifting call was received from Super 1 Foods on U.S. 167. Employees were reportedly chasing him through the Graham Shopping Center parking lot. An officer spotted Jackson and detained him. Two warrants for failure to appear in city court for previous theft cases were also found during a records check.
Jackson was booked for two counts of theft and the two warrants. Bail was set at $6,000.
