Techsters travel to UL-Lafayette Sunday

Louisiana Tech will play the first of back-to-back games in the southern part of the state to close out the non-conference portion of its schedule as the Lady Techsters face UL-Lafayette Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Cajun Dome.

The contest can be heard on the LA Tech Sports Network with Kyle Roberts providing a call of the action with the pregame show starting at 3:30 p.m. The game will also be streamed on ESPN3.

Tech will close out pre-conference play Dec. 22 at McNeese State.

Tech (7-2) has won three straight games, including its most recent 77-52 victory over Sam Houston State one week ago today. The Lady Techsters are one of the top defensive teams in Conference USA, ranking No. 1 in blocked shots (4.56 bpg), No. 2 in scoring defense (53.67 papg), No. 3 in steals (10.89 spg), and No. 6 in field goal percentage defense (.361).

Kieunna Walker ranks No. 3 in scoring in C-USA, averaging 17.11 points a contest and No. 8 in field goal percentage (.430) and No. 9 in steals per game (2.22). Anna Larr Roberson ranks No. 3 in rebounds (9.44 rpg), No. 4 in blocked shots (1.56), No. 10 in free throw percentage (.780), and No. 17 in scoring (12.9 ppg).

UL-Lafayette (7-2) is the defending Sun Belt Conference champion. The Ragin Cajuns are coming off a 90-45 win over LSU-Shreveport and their two losses are against LSU and Houston.
