Tax notices sent out last week

Lincoln Parish property tax notices were mailed Dec. 13 after a delay due to the recent library tax referendum, according to the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department. The Sheriff’s Department serves at the parish tax collector. Local authorities had to wait for the tax rolls to be approved before the notices could be mailed.

The due date for these taxes to be paid is Dec. 30, 2021. However, a grace period has been granted whereby no interest will be assessed on tax payments received prior to Jan. 28, 2022.  Any payments received after this date will be assessed interest for the entire month of January, along with any other interest, fees and penalties due based upon the date payment is received.

The Tax Collector’s office at the courthouse is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. to accept payments in person.  The office will, however, be closed on Friday, Dec. 24 and Friday, Dec. 31.
