Altercation leads to arrest

Grambling police arrested a local man late Monday night in response to a call of a battery.

The victim told Grambling PD Sergeant M. Tennant that she had been at Gage Sinnie’s residence at about 9 p.m. sitting in his vehicle with him when a physical altercation ensued.

The woman said Sinnie started an argument and punched her in the mouth. She said she attempted to exit the vehicle when Sinnie pulled her by her braids back into the vehicle and struck her in the face with a closed fist. She said she was able to break free, jump out of the vehicle, and go into the house to tell Sinnie’s mother. The victim’s injuries were photographed.

Sidney later went to the Grambling police station where he reportedly admitted to the altercation as described by the victim. He was placed under arrest and booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center for battery of a dating partner.

Bail had not been set as of Tuesday evening.
