A call from a Ruston residence Sunday led to the arrest of a man on drug and weapons charges.
Ruston police officers responded to a report of a home invasion in progress Sunday afternoon.
When officers arrived, they found the front door open and heard loud yelling and arguing inside. The officers entered the residence and took a 33-year-old man, identified as Donald Jacobs, 33, of Ruston, into custody.
Jacobs is a convicted felon on parole probation since 2021. It was also determined that Jacobs wanted on City of Ruston Court warrants for failure to appear in court for speeding and driving under suspension.
Jacobs was transported to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where he was booked for illegal possession of a stolen firearm, illegal possession of a weapon in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, illegal possession of a controlled dangerous substance in the presence of persons under 17, possession of controlled dangerous substance within the drug free zone, possession of promethazine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and the two Ruston warrants.
