Raid takes down alleged dealer

A Thursday morning raid at a Grambling apartment has led to the arrest of an alleged “mid-level drug dealer.”

Tracy Hampton, Jr., 25, of Grambling, was arrested on numerous charges after the Lincoln Parish Sheriff’s Department Special Response Team executed a search warrant on his College Avenue apartment. The search warrant was based on an investigation by the Lincoln Parish Narcotics Enforcement Team.

Hampton was arrested on two narcotics-related warrants and a search was conducted of the apartment. Investigators recovered approximately 459 grams of marijuana, 76 grams of cocaine, and 50 grams of psilocybin mushrooms and a quantity of cash.

At the conclusion of the search, Hampton was booked at the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on the two warrants and possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of psilocybin mushrooms with intent to distribute, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, violation of the controlled substance drug-free zone , illegal use of controlled substances in the presence of persons under 17, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bail was set at $375,000 and Hampton remains in the custody of the detention center.
