Watts ‘produces’ early Easter, Mother’s Day activities

From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 9, Watts Produce, located at 670 Walker Rd. in Choudrant, will host an Easter and Mother’s Day Festival. Much like last fall, Watts Produce hopes to bring the community together for a fun-filled time to remember.

Families are welcome to make a quick stop and check out the festivities planned for the day.

“The event is very family-oriented and we’d like everyone to come out and have a good time,” said Tara Burch, whose family owns Watts.

The festival will have plenty of interactive attractions for the youth and adults. Jumpers, egg hunts, Easter egg dyeing and a petting pen are for the kids, and parents can browse at the small businesses that plan to attend as well.

“A photographer will arrive with props for Spring and Easter pictures. Lots of boutiques and small businesses with things such as salt scrubs, homemade knives, hanging and potted plants can be expected,” Burch said. “Even the Easter Bunny is supposed to make a surprise appearance.”

Not only does the festival serve the community but also the small business and boutiques that come out to show off their crafts.

“We being a small business ourselves know the struggle,” Burch said. “I think it’s important to get the word out and help out.”

All plans for the Easter and Mother’s Day Festival are full speed ahead. Although, if the weather does turn inclement preparations are made to reschedule.

Taking everything into consideration, Burch looks forward to how this coming weekend will turn out.

“We’ve always been involved in the community,” Burch said. “Let’s see what happens.”
