Right-hander Greg Martinez (2-1, 5.27 ERA) will make his fifth straight midweek start versus NSU on Tuesday. Martinez delivered a very strong start his last time out going five innings, allowing no runs on three hits and striking out seven.

Taylor Young leads the squad in nine different hitting categories. The senior shortstop also leads the conference with 41 runs scored and four triples as he collected one over the weekend.

Bulldog designated-hitter Walker Burchfield made his presence known at the plate over the weekend. Burchfield was 7-for-16 over his last four starts at the DH spot with two homers, two doubles and nine RBI.

Northwestern State (15-16) rolls into Ruston on a four-game losing streak after dropping a midweek game to Lamar and being swept over the weekend by Incarnate Word in San Antonio.
