Within the next few days, the intersection of Everett Street and Railroad Avenue, located on the south side of the Everett Street bridge, will be converted to an all-way stop, according to an email sent out by Louisiana Tech Assistant Chief of Police Bill Davis.
This means that in addition to traffic on Everett Street being required to stop at this intersection, east and west bound traffic on Railroad Avenue will also be required to stop at this intersection. A second pedestrian crosswalk will be added on the east side of this intersection after the additional stop signs are in place.
Pedestrians and motorists should exercise extra caution when navigating this intersection until everyone become familiar with the new traffic controls that are being added. Pedestrians crossing Railroad Avenue at this intersection will always have the right-of-way.
