For the fourth year in a row, North Louisiana Farm Fresh is participating in the Community Foundation of North Louisiana’s Give for Good. As north Louisiana’s largest giving event, Give For Good allows community members to discover and engage with nonprofit organizations and make a contribution to causes they feel strongly about. Donations to NLFF and the Ruston Farmers Market can be made between April 19 and May 3.
Community partners have been valuable players in helping the market grow and thrive over the past 14 years. The RFM plays an important role in Ruston and the surrounding areas. The market provides fresh and healthy food to the community, and because RFM accepts SNAP, the organization directly address food insecurity. The RFM provides an affordable venue for a wide variety of farmers, ranchers and creators to sell their goods. Additionally, the RFM has served as an incubator for local small businesses.
This year, RFM is hoping to use donations to help fund a teaching kitchen at the building. The kitchen would allow individuals to teach the community how to prepare fresh, affordable, healthy food and sustain local growers and producers.
