Woman arrested for striking nurse

A patient at a local specialty hospital was arrested after allegedly punching a nurse in the face.

Lincoln Parish sheriff’s deputies responded to Serenity Specialty Hospital where a registered nurse said she attempted to administer medication to a female patient who punched her in the face. Deputies observed a red mark and cut on the nurse’s face. A witness confirmed what happened and the patient admitted she hit the nurse because the nurse allegedly touched her sandwich.

The patient was arrested and transported to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center and booked for battery of a healthcare professional.

The deputy’s affidavit noted the patient had been arrested at the hospital before for fighting.

Lincoln Parish Journal will not publish the arrestee’s name since she was a medical patient.
