LPJ growth proves newest media outlet

By Judith Roberts, publisher

Less than 15 months old, the Lincoln Parish Journal has caught the attention of the residents of Ruston, Grambling, Choudrant, Dubach, Simsboro and the surrounding parishes in a very short time.

The first edition of the LPJ – a FREE online-only news outlet dedicated to covering the people, places and things in our beautiful parish – came out in February of 2021.

It began drawing interest of readers in the early months, as our email subscribers list increased at a steady rate and as did the monthly viewership through our morning email, website (LincolnParishJournal.com) and social media platforms, including facebook.com/lincolnparishjournal and Twitter (@lpjnewla).

Our mission is to bring the residents of Lincoln Parish the most complete, up-to-date news, including government, lifestyle, sports, city, outdoors, and more.

How do we gauge our success? Through our viewership. We take great pride in the fact we are providing FREE news to our readers (something that won’t ever change). And based on our numbers, our readers have appreciated our philosophy of covering our wonderful piney-hills parish.

Since taking over as publisher of the LPJ at the beginning of September, our readership has grown by just over 500 percent. That’s not a misprint. So thank you to our readers.

We feel our staff at the LPJ is pure Lincoln Parish through and through. From Teddy Allen to Scott Boatright to Wes Harris to Sallie Rose Hollis to Dusty and Rachel McGehee to my husband Kyle and myself (and others), we all have one thing in common: we are emotionally invested in Lincoln Parish and its people.

And we couldn’t do it without our great advertising partners, who have believed in our ability to serve their needs. The LPJ is proud to offer some of the most affordable rates with a high return on investment.

Thank you to our advertising partners and thank you to our readers.

As the summer months approach, our staff at the Lincoln Parish Journal is working hard to find even better ways to provide our readers with the coverage they want. And we are always eager for feedback.

So, if you have an idea for the LPJ or you would like to advertise with our online publication, please send us an email at LPJnewsla@gmail.com. We would love to hear from you.
