The honors keep coming for Cedar Creek’s one-two punch of Allie Furr and Sarah Adams as the Lady Cougars dynamic duo both earned first all-state softball honors by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association (LSWA).

Lizzie McAdams earned all-state honorable mention honors.

Furr, a junior outfielder, and Adams, a senior infielder, led the Lady Cougars to the District 2-1A title and the second round of the Louisiana Class A state tournament.

Furr, who also earned first team all-District 2A honors, batted .615 (59 of 96) with 13 doubles, 6 triples and 3 home runs with 52 runs scored and 29 RBI. She also stole 23 bases.

Adams, who was named the District 2-A MVP, hit .490 (50 of 102) with 16 doubles and 14 home runs with 53 RBI and 47 runs scored.

McAdams, who also earned first team all-district accolades, batted .416 (42 of 101) with 9 doubles and 8 home runs along with 26 runs scored and 39 RBI. In the circle, she was 5-3 with a 4.52 earned run average.

All three young ladies also starred for the Creek girls basketball team, leading the Lady Cougars to the program’s first ever state title game in March.

Furr, a Louisiana Tech softball commit, and McAdams will return to Cedar Creek for another season. Adams, a ULM basketball signee, will enroll in college this fall.
