Netterville earns C-USA Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship

 Louisiana Tech’s Steele Netterville was selected as one of 14 recipients for the Conference USA Jim Castañeda Postgraduate Scholarship.

Every season, C-USA grants the $4,000 scholarship to distinguished graduates selected by the league’s Faculty Athletics Representatives and approved by the Conference USA Board of Directors.

Netterville graduated in 2021 with a degree in biology with a 3.90 GPA, currently pursuing a second degree in kinesiology and health sciences. He has been accepted into the LSU Health medical school and will enroll in the Fall of 2022.

The Shreveport native is a two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American, three-time C-USA All-Academic team selection, a five-time C-USA Academic Medalist, a five-time C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll honoree over his five-year career at Tech.

Netterville finished his outstanding career as the new career leader in doubles. He sits tied for second all-time at LA Tech with 46 home runs and second all-time in RBI with 221. He led LA Tech to the 2021 C-USA West Division Championship and the 2022 C-USA Tournament Championship.
