
After a two year in-person absence, the 40th Juneteenth Pageant was held in June in the T.H. Harris Auditorium on Grambling State University campus.
Three young ladies were crowned: Little Miss Juneteenth, Briley Kent; Miss Junior Juneteenth, Gabrielle Simmons; and Miss Juneteenth, Kesynce Brewster-Daniel.
Royce G. Dillard serenaded the 2019 Queens during their farewell walk, singing “The Greatest Love of All.” The 2019 Queens were Lauren Washington, “Miss Juneteenth;” VaTerrilyn Rollins, “Little Miss Juneteenth;” and VaShanti Sproulls, “Junior Miss Juneteenth.” The torch of the historical two-year reign was passed on by the 2019-2021 queens.
