Two Louisiana State Troopers saved a Livingston Parish kitten this week and gave it a new home.
Trooper Williams along with his Field Training Officer, Trooper Clay Harris, were able to save the kitten from La. 16. Dubbed “Dixie,” they ensured not only the kitten’s safety but also were concerned that motorists may have swerved and possibly wrecked to avoid hitting the animal.
The Louisiana State Police Facebook page shared a need to help protect animals.
“Help us protect animals! The Louisiana SPCA has a complaint form if you witness individuals dumping animals. You can report it to http://www.louisianaspca.org/humane-law/ ” the post read.
The two troopers were also able to find a home for Dixie with a third LSP trooper.
The City of Ruston is breaking ground next week on a new state-of-the art animal shelter. Groundbreaking will take place at 9 a.m. Tuesday, July 12 at 1212 4th Ave. off of McCallister Ave.
