Tech Police make traffic arrest

A Louisiana Tech Police officer arrested a local woman Sunday evening on a variety of traffic charges and warrants.

An officer paced a vehicle traveling 40 miles per hour in a 25 mile an hour zone on Tech Drive between Barnett Springs Avenue and Railroad Avenue. The vehicle turned on Alabama Avenue and was stopped. The driver, Carrington D. Gardner, 24, of Ruston was told she was speeding. The officer noted in his report that Gardner became irate and stated she was doing 25 mph.

A records check revealed Gardner’s driver’s license was suspended and she was wanted on three bench warrants  from Ruston City Court. She was arrested and booked for speeding 40 in a 25 mph zone, driving under suspension, no vehicle insurance, and the three City Court warrants for failure to appear in court.

Bail was set at $9,000.
