Resident reports assault over dogs

Ruston Police responded to a Marie Avenue address regarding an assault with a firearm.

The victim said her dogs had gone to another house on the street. When she attempted to get the dogs back, Nicholas LeBlanc met her. The victim told officers she was able to get the dogs from the yard, but LeBlanc came out of the residence with a handgun, yelling and screaming at her. 

The victim said LeBlanc chased her through the yard. She fell and LeBlanc stood over her with the handgun pointed at her. She told officer she begged and pleaded for LeBlanc not to shoot her and offered him money to let her go.

Officers arrested LeBlanc, 22, and took him to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where they booked him for aggravated assault with a firearm.

Bail was set at $10,000.
