Ruston Police arrested a man Saturday morning after responding to a disturbance call on Stacy Lane.
The victim told officers a man named Kevin Harris had battered her inside a Stacy Lane residence. She said Harris struck her repeatedly before she barricaded herself in a bathroom and eventually jumped out the window and fled. No visible injuries were observed, however.
Officers went to Harris’s house, and he allegedly attempted to flee out a bathroom window but eventually came to the door. Harris was detained and handcuffed while other witnesses were interviewed. During that time Harris fled on foot and officers gave chase.
Officers reported Harris’s shorts fell as he was running, causing him to trip and fall onto concrete. The fall caused a small laceration to his face. The injury was treated by medical personnel.
After other witnesses were interviewed, Harris, 45, was transported to the Lincoln Parish Detention Center where he was booked for battery of a dating partner and resisting an officer.
Bail was set at $1,500 on the two charges but additional holds were placed by Probation & Parole of the Louisiana Department of Corrections.
